These are images I shot for Child Surgery Vietnam.

Child Surgery Vietnam is an NGO that facilitates child surgery in the more remote provinces in northern Vietnam. Although the majority of the children treated suffer from open palates and cleft lips, there are also those with more serious conditions such as feet pointing the wrong way and burn wounds.

Together with a team of doctors I went to Dien Bien twice. Mothers/fathers bring the children to the hospital, where each child is examined and when approved they receive a number and a date of surgery. After surgery the children go to the recovery rooms and when ready they go home. During the second visit some of the patients returned for a second operation.
