Irish weekend in Hanoi
Impression of a weekend organized by the embassy of Ireland and Irish Aid. It started off with a session at the ambassador’s house. On Saturday was a visit to Visit to Thanh Xuan Peace Village, home and education for 92 children and young people who are suffering from the effects of Agent Orange. In the evening there was a fundraiser at Melia Hotel.
The band consisted of Mick Moloney, Frank Crocker, Athena Tergis, Niall O’Leary (former all-Ireland and world champion step dancing), John Murphy and Nguyễn Thanh Tùng (on a traditional Vietnamese instrument, the Đàn bầu). Unfortunately I haven’t been able to track down the name of the woman on the acoustic guitar.
